Word Documents to PDF — Right in Your Browser
Submission documents and hand-outs should be made into PDFs so they look the same on the recipient's screen. This tool reads the internal structure of a DOCX file directly and redraws paragraphs, headings, tables, and images as PDF.
The characters in the result are real text, not an image. You can still search and copy after saving, and documents with non-Latin scripts embed the font inside so they look the same on any device.
That said, this conversion re-typesets the content rather than reproducing Word exactly. Line breaks and page breaks may differ from the original, so for documents where formatting must be preserved exactly, use Word's export feature.
Limits of this tool
- Page breaks and line-break positions may differ from the original. It doesn't reproduce the typesetting exactly.
- Headers/footers, footnotes/endnotes, TOC fields, and shapes/charts aren't converted.
- Fonts are unified to a default typeface rather than the ones specified (bold, italic, size, and color are kept).
- The old format (.doc) isn't supported. Save as .docx in Word first.

Upload the Word document to convert. The file opens only in your browser and is never transmitted.

Decide whether to add page numbers. For documents with non-Latin scripts, a font is downloaded once automatically.

Review the result on the finish screen and download. If any element couldn't be carried over, it's listed for you.
Key features
Searchable text
Instead of turning pages into pictures, characters go in as characters. Word search and copy work in the result PDF.
Automatic font embedding
When non-Latin scripts are present, an OFL-licensed font is embedded. Only the characters actually used are included, so the file doesn't grow much.
Tables and images kept
Tables are rebuilt with borders drawn, and embedded PNG/JPG images are placed at their original aspect ratio.
Un-carried elements listed
If something like headers/footers or footnotes couldn't be converted, the result screen lists it.

How are your files handled?
The DOCX file is unzipped and read in your browser. Neither the document nor the images inside it leave your device; only the font file is downloaded from this site.
