PowerPoint to PDF — In a Shareable Form

Converting presentation material to PDF means the recipient doesn't have to open PowerPoint, and problems like shifted slides or swapped fonts are reduced.

This tool reads the coordinates and sizes of shapes within slides and places them in the same spot on the PDF page. The page size follows the original slide ratio (16:9, 4:3, etc.), so no margins appear.

Turning on the option to include speaker notes adds a page organizing the notes after each slide. It's handy for making a hand-out to prepare for a talk.

Limits of this tool

  • Animations and transitions can't be captured in a PDF, so only the final state remains.
  • Background images and decorative elements from slide masters/layouts aren't converted.
  • Charts and SmartArt aren't converted. Those areas may appear empty.
  • Shape styles like fill, border, and shadow aren't reflected; mostly text and images are carried over.
  • Fonts are unified to a default typeface (size, weight, and color kept).

How to use

  1. 1

    Select a PPTX file

Upload the presentation to convert and the slide count and aspect ratio are read and shown.

  2. 2

    Choose whether to include notes

Decide whether to append speaker notes. This option has no effect on files without notes.

  3. 3

    Convert and save

A PDF is created in the original slide order.

Key features

  • Slide ratio kept

Whether 16:9 or 4:3, it uses the original size so there are no top/bottom margins.

  • Shape positions preserved

It reads the coordinates and sizes of text boxes and images and places them in the same spot.

  • Speaker-notes option

Per-slide notes can be gathered at the back for a printable hand-out.

  • Slide table handling

Tables within slides are laid out as line-by-line text so nothing is lost.

When to use it

  • Distributing presentation material

Deliver material to attendees in a non-editable form.

  • Printing for talk prep

Include notes to make a hand-out with your speaking script.

  • Submitting a portfolio

Tidy a slide portfolio into a single file to send.

How are your files handled?

The PPTX file is unzipped and read for slide info in your browser. Images embedded in slides also never leave your device.

Selected files open only in your browser's memory, and results are handed straight to your device when you save. Close the tab and any remaining data is gone with it. See the Privacy Policy and File Retention Policy for details.

PowerPoint → PDF FAQ

The background comes out white only.
Backgrounds set in the slide master aren't converted yet. If the background matters, use PowerPoint's File → Export.
Does text inside shapes appear?
Yes. Text entered in a shape appears at that spot. However, the shape's own form and color aren't drawn.
Can I make an image of each slide?
Convert to PDF first, then use the PDF → Image tool to get per-slide image files.
