PDF Info — Look at the File's State First

Checking a document's state before working on it with other tools cuts down on trial and error. See how many pages there are, whether page sizes are mixed, and whether a password is set — all on one screen.

A password-protected PDF in particular won't open in most editing tools. When you can't figure out why a task is failing, inspect it here first.

The per-page size list also helps prevent print accidents. If a Letter-size page is mixed in among A4 pages, the printout's margins will be off.

How to use

  1. 1

    Select a PDF

Upload a file and analysis starts immediately. The contents are only shown on screen.

  2. 2

    Check the summary

See the page count, file size, document info (title, author, producing program), and whether a password is set.

  3. 3

    View per-page details

Check each page's width and height (mm), orientation, and rotation value in a table.

Key features

  • Encryption detection

Determines whether a document has an open password, telling you why it won't open in other tools.

  • Mixed page-size check

If pages of different specs are mixed in the document, it flags them so you can catch it before printing.

  • Document info

Shows the title, author, producing program, and creation/modification dates left in the file.

  • Read-only

This tool doesn't modify the file. It only inspects and saves nothing.

When to use it

  • Checking specs before submission

Confirm you kept the required page count and paper spec before sending.

  • Finding why editing failed

When another tool errors out, check first for a password or corruption.

  • Checking for info exposure before sharing

See whether an author name or internal path remains in the document info and tidy it if needed.

How are your files handled?

Analysis happens entirely in your browser and results are shown only on screen. Neither the file nor the analysis is saved or transmitted.

Selected files open only in your browser's memory, and results are handed straight to your device when you save. Close the tab and any remaining data is gone with it. See the Privacy Policy and File Retention Policy for details.

PDF Info FAQ

Can I see info for a password-protected document?
Whether a password is set can be checked, but since the contents can't be opened, page count and size info won't be shown.
What unit are the sizes shown in?
The internal PDF unit (points) is converted to millimeters and shown alongside. A4 shows as about 210×297mm.
I want to change the document info.
You can edit the title, author, keywords, and more and save in the Edit Metadata tool.
